Christianity Is A Religion Of Violence

Psalm 3:7 God punches an atheist

Does Christianity teach peace? Sometimes, there are really nice bits where it does. We all like those bits.

On the whole, however, Christianity teaches obedience to violent authority, and gives permission to perform terrible acts of violence in the name of that authority - Jehovah, whose name literally means the Lord of Armies.

The armies of Christianity are not restrained and judicious with their violence. They are vengeful and spiteful and determined to inflict suffering. Christian armies glory in demeaning the people they fight.

Don’t believe it?

Look at Psalm 83, in which the writer urges Jehovah to support his military campaign of humiliation:

“Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, who perished at Endor and became like dung on the ground.

Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, “Let us take possession of the pasturelands of God.”

Make them like tumbleweed, my God, like chaff before the wind.

As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.

Cover their faces with shame, Lord, so that they will seek your name.

May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace.

Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord — that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.”

Read Psalm 18:

“I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice. My cry came before him, into his ears.

The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook. They trembled because he was angry.

Smoke rose from his nostrils. Consuming fire came from his mouth. Burning coals blazed out of it.

He parted the heavens and came down. Dark clouds were under his feet. He mounted the cherubim and flew. He soared on the wings of the wind.

He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him — the dark rain clouds of the sky. Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.

The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded. He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them.

The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, Lord, at the blast of breath from your nostrils…

I pursued my enemies and overtook them. I did not turn back till they were destroyed. I crushed them so that they could not rise. They fell beneath my feet.

You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.

You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes.

They cried for help, but there was no one to save them — to the Lord, but he did not answer.

I beat them as fine as windblown dust. I trampled them like mud in the streets.

You have delivered me from the attacks of the people. You have made me the head of nations.

People I did not know now serve me. Foreigners cower before me. As soon as they hear of me, they obey me.

They all lose heart. They come trembling from their strongholds.

The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!

He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me.”

Don’t forget Psalm 3:7.

“Rise, God, and save me. You have punched all my enemies in the face and broken the teeth of the ungodly.”

Christianity is vengeful and violent. It is a cult of cruel power.

Now, that cult controls the entire federal government of the USA.

Is it any wonder America is falling apart?
