Bicyclists Against Trump
During the 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump declared: “I make this pledge to you today: I will never ever ride a bicycle.”
That statement represents some of Donald Trump’s worst flaws: He is a lazy, entitled man who was born rich and has never experienced any true struggle in life. Not only does Donald Trump not know how to ride a bicycle, he doesn’t even drive his own car. He has limousine drivers take him everywhere he wants to go.
Bicyclists see things that people driving cars and trucks do not. They feel the conditions of the road directly. They see what's happening to natural areas and they feel the changing climate without any bubble of glass and steel to protect them. Bicyclists also know what it means to make progress through their own muscle and determination. These things are all foreign to Donald Trump, who was born rich and has never known true struggle.
Is it any wonder that Trump has used his privilege to become an unhinged dictator without any regard for the damage he causes to other people's lives? Instead of promoting sustainable transportation, Trump is seeking to put more internal combustion engines on the road, burning more fossil fuels.
